Obituary for James R Trewhella

James R Trewhella
James R. Trewhella Jr. son of Nancy and James R. Trewhella, passed over with his angels on January 06, 2014 surrounded by family. He is survived by his mother Nancy, his sisters, Laura and Leslie Trewhella, his wife Silvia Trewhella. He was predeceased by his father James.
Although his current residence was in Ossipee, New Hampshire, Jim was born, raised and spent most of his life in the Montclair NJ area. As a young boy his favorite sport was ice hockey. He played consistently during his youth for the Montclair traveling team, Seton Hall Prep in high school and Fairleigh Dickenson in college. He sometimes even put on his skates and picked up games in the recent past. Although he loved watching all sports, Jim’s other great passion was golf. He was always a fierce competitor and a valuable asset in a tournament.
Jim’s magnetic personality drew people to him and his fierce loyalty made him a steadfast friend to those in his inner circle. His circle of influence grew over time as he developed lasting relationships through school, sports and business. He always found the time to be a good friend. It was no surprise that Jim chose sales as his profession; he spent the majority of his career in restaurant equipment sales and refrigeration service. He enjoyed meeting customers and loved the challenge of providing them with Just the right product or service.
Family and friends were most important to Jim as well as his most loyal companion, his Springer Spaniel, Kane. An avid outdoorsman, Jim took Kane everywhere. Whether Jim was riding a snowmobile, four-wheeling, swimming in the lake, cruising in a boat, walking the trails, or riding to see a customer, Kaneman was a constant by Jim’s side.
Although Jim’s time on earth was too brief, he made a lasting impact on those who loved him. We miss him already. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cassian Church, Saturday, January 25th at 10am. The family will receive guests immediately thereafter at the Upper Montclair Women’s Club. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Gosnell Hospice of Southern Maine, Scarborough ME 04074-9925. (www.hospiceofsouthernmaine.org.)
