Thelma E. Georgewitz (nee Henninger) ,98, of Bloomfield, passed away on May 5, 2014. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, May 8, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair. A funeral service will be on Friday, 10am at the funeral home followed by an interment at Woodland Cemetery in Newark. caggianomemorial.com
Thelma was born and raised in Newark, before moving to Bloomfield in 1967. She worked in the drafting department at Westinghouse in Bloomfield for 47 years before retiring in 1981, and in the Lamplighters Association as an employee. She was the former president of the Essex County Senior Citizens Wednesday Club, and a member of the Deborah Hospital Association

Mrs. Georgewitz is survived by her son Joseph H. Georgewitz and his wife Mary, three grandchildren, Joseph T., Randi, and Keri Georgewitz, a brother Clarence “Larry” Henninger, and is predeceased by her husband Joseph Georgewitz in 1980 and her brother, Arthur Henninger.
