Obituary for Marie Guardabascio

Marie Guardabascio (nee Coppola),of West Caldwell, 91, passed away on September 29, 2014. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30am at St. Aloysius Church in Caldwell, with an entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum in North Arlington. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4-8pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair. caggianomemorial.com
Marie was born in New York, raised in Newark before moving to West Caldwell in 1973. She was a secretary at Madison Avenue School in Newark from 1954 to 1973.
During WWII she received a certificate as a Junior Drafting Engineer Aide from the Army Signal Corps School in Long Branch. She then worked at the U.S. Army Signal Corps Laboratories in Eatontown NJ, and the U.S. Air Force Service Command in Dayton, Ohio.
She is survived by her brother, Michael A. Coppola Jr., a brother-in-law, Sam Miele, a sister-in-law Rae Guardabascio and many loving nieces and nephews.
Marie was predeceased by her husband Albert, her parents Michael and Marianna Coppola, and a sister Anna (Viola) Piserchio, and a sister-in-law Eleanor Coppola.
In lieu of flowers memorials to St Aloysius Church in Caldwell or to St Jude's Children’s Hospital.
