Obituary for William J. Leahy Sr.
William J. Leahy Sr., 91, of Verona formerly of Newark and East Orange, passed away on April 29th, 2015. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday May 2nd, at 10AM at St. Aloysius Church in Caldwell, with an interment at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visiting will be held on Friday from 2-5pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St. Montclair. Caggianomemorial.com
Mr. Leahy was born and raised in East Orange, living in Newark and recently moving to Verona 13 years ago. He worked as a computer technician for Allstate Insurance working on IBM mainframes for many years. He was a World War II Veteran stationed in both London and Paris for a year and a half, where he was a technician.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen(nee Vitiello), his children, Janine Masucci (Alfonso) and William Jr. (Phyllis Ann), his brother, Joseph, his sister Joan Ford, and 3 cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Michael and Amanda. He is predeceased by his sister, Margaret Lezgus.
