Raffaela Guardabascio , (nee Montanari), "Rae" "Dolly", 94, passed away on May 12, 2016. Rae was born and raised in Newark,moving to Southern California, Bloomfield, Belleville before settling in Middlesex Boro in 2011. She was a school crossing guard in Belleville and Newark for many years, and participated in local activities and politics in Belleville.


She is survived by her children, Joseph, Frank and his wife Kathleen, Amelia Marano and her husband George, and Annette, her Grandchildren, Pat, Carolyn, Lisa, Frank, Georgina, Michael R., Joe Jr., and Michael, her great-grandchildren, Kyle, Jenna,, Jake, Juliana, Alyssa, Anthony, Madison, Joseph, Jaden, Gianfranco, Giuliano, Erika, Christian, Junior, a brother in law, Sam Miele and also by many dear nieces and nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Frank in 1975, her sister, Tillie Fitzsimmons, and her brothers, Nicholas, Frank, Tony, Mike and Victor Montanari.

Rae was a beautiful, generous and compassionate woman who enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved sewing and cooking for her huge family, much to their delight, even creating many of her own recipes. She will be greatly missed.
