Obituary for Elisa DiMatteo
After a battle with cancer, Elisa DiMatteo Bustamante died on October 4, 2016 at the age of 82. She leaves behind her son, Juan Carlos DiMatteo, her daughter-in-law Jessica DiMatteo, her two beautiful grandkids Andres & Briahna, and her faithful dog Tiger.
Elisa was born on October 4, 1934 in Colombia, to father Ruben Bustamante and mother Christina Vergara, who predeceased her. She grew up in a large, loving family with six sisters. She moved to the United States in the early 70’s and has lived in NJ ever since.
Elisa is survived by her son, as well as her sisters, Marina Rubio and Amelia Bustamante and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Rosario, Hilda, and Alix Bustamante.
Elisa requested to be cremated. Her ashes will be kept by her son and family at their home, close to their hearts. The family would especially like to thank everyone who has supported Elisa with their constant, attentive treatment during her illness, and the Caggiano Memorial Funeral Home for making the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the DiMatteo family to assist with funeral costs.
