Obituary for Maria Bellina

Maria Bellina was born on Febuary 21st 1933 in the small village of Petralia Sottana Province Palermo(Italy. Maria was a caregiver all her life.Looking after her Mother Tommasina and Father Giuseppe thru their final days.She was a great cook and a accomplished seamstress who made (among other things) amazing quilts and table cloths. She was always there with a smile and always willing to help. For the past 20 years she had lived with Her sister (my mother Giochianna) and the rest of our family. Unfortunately, The last few years have been difficult, as she slipped into the holds of dementia. Near the end she believed she was in her childhood village of Petralia which brought her comfort and which we always assured her she was. Looking back at all the Beautiful pictures I cant help but remember the way she was. I find comfort in knowing we did all we could to make her life as pleasant as possible. Other Than my Nonno Calogero (my namesake) she is the only person who Always called me Chalutz...a nickname I cherish. As I said to her every single time I left her..Zia ti vulo bene XOXOXO. She leaves behind Her Sister Giochianna(Jacqueline Diliberti) her Brother Francisco Bellina and his wife Nardina. She also leaves behind The Following Nieces and Nephews. Charles and Pamela Diliberti and their two sons Anthony and Daniel. Anna Maria(Bellina)and Rob Scillia and their two children Michael and Gianna, Josephine(Bellina) and Anthony LaVista and their three children Nicole Michael and Matthew.
