Obituary for Angie Castano


Angelina Castano (nee Maffei), 94 , of Verona formerly of Montclair, passed away on November 29, 2016. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday December 2, at 10am at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Verona, interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair. Visiting will be on Thursday December 1, from 4-8pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair. caggianomemorial.com

Angie is survived by her daughters, Lois Gesin (David), Emilia Zeller (Paul), her grandchildren,
David Gesin (Cheree), Christine Ebner (Robert), Samantha Seidler (Jeff) and Jaclyn Zeller, her great grandchildren Hannah, Brady, Noah, Jeffrey and Lexie Gesin, Robert Ebner Jr. and Mackenzie Seidler, and many nieces and nephews, and is predeceased by her husband Sam Castano in 1981 and by her sisters, Julia Leone, Elvera Gamba, Grace Migliara, her brothers, Carl, Frank, James, Sam and Philip Maffei.

She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed family gatherings and holidays at her home. Everyone was welcome to stop by for homemade baked goods and sometimes left with something she knitted. Many generations enjoyed her sweaters and slippers.
