Thomas W. McGurk Sr., “Whitey”, 77, lifelong Montclair resident, passed away on Wednesday March 8, 2017. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 11th at 1pm at St. Theresa’s of Calcutta Parish- Church of the Immaculate Conception, 30 North Fullerton Ave, Montclair. Cremation will be private. Visiting will be on Friday March 10th from 4-8pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair, caggianomemorial.com

Whitey was the owner of Thomas McGurk and Son’s Carpentry and Builders in Montclair for many years. He was Irishman of the Year for the Ancient Order of Hibernians in 2004, and loved his summer vacations at Manasquan Beach, and his trips to Ireland.

He is survived by his wife Dianne (nee Rubino), his children Thomas McGurk Jr, Laura Stockel and her husband Lester III, Tara Lewis and her husband Andrew, his cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Kyle, and Owen Stockel, Emma, Henry, and Luke Lewis, and his sister Eileen Sabol, and was predeceased by his brother James, and sister MaryAnne Lueddeke.
