Obituary for Theresa A DiGirolamo
Theresa DiGirolamo (nee Ferrari), 96, of West Orange, passed away at her home on Saturday September 16th, 2017. Viewing will be on Thursday September 21st, from 9-10am at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair, followed by a 11am Mass of Christian burial at St Joseph’s Church 44 Benvenue Ave. West Orange, entombment at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover.
Theresa was born October 1st, 1920 to Francesco and Angelina Ferrari, in New York City, and was the last of their 8 children. She was raised in Park Slope, NY, and Heightstown, NJ, then moving to East Orange and Newark, where she graduated from Barringer HS in the top of her class. She then worked for Lionell Corp in Hillside, and met her husband of 70 years, John V. DiGirolamo, and lived in Orange NJ, where they raised 3 children. They settled in West Orange in 1991.
She is survived by her husband John V. DiGirolamo, her children Silvia Del Priore and her husband Alberto, Francesca DiGirolamo and her husband Richard Luna and by her daughter-in-law Rose Marie DiGirolamo, her grandchildren, Elizabeth Scura, Andrew Scura, Gabriella Luna, Sarah DiGirolamo, John DiGirolamo, Julia DiGirolamo, and by her great grandson Gael Scura-Rodrigues. She was predeceased by her son, V. Anthony DiGirolamo.
