Obituary for Michael Zarrillo


Michael Zarrillo, 82, of Montclair passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 3 at 10am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Montclair. There will be a viewing at church at 9:30am before the mass begins. Cremation will be private. caggianomemorial.com.



Family and friends celebrate the life of and mourn the passing of Michael Frank Zarrillo (1/4/1936 to 7/1/18). Mike was born and raised in the same house on Forest St. in Montclair, NJ. After serving in the US Army from 1956 to 1958, he returned to his home on Forest Street to raise his family and work as the manager of the Acme supermarket for over 30 years before owning Calabrese on Forest St. Mike will be remembered by local residents for the smiles he brought to so many selling balloons and novelties at every 4th of July parade and fireworks in Montclair. Mike also enjoyed spending as much time as possible on Point Pleasant Beach where everyone was always welcome. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Colleen Antonelli Zarrillo, their children Michael Thomas Zarrillo and Tracey Ann Perini, daughter-in-law Teri, son-in-law Dave, four beautiful grandchildren Michael, Hailey, Morgan and Justin, brother Canio Zarrillo and his wife Lillian, and many nieces and nephews. Mike is predeceased by his sisters Vincenzia Fiorovanti and Josephine Butts. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to a foundation of your choice.
