Winfield was many things to me. He was my boss, my mentor and my friend. He gave me an opportunity when I needed it most for which I am forever grateful. Always the patient teacher,he never belittled, yelled or openly criticized me for any mistake but instead always offered encouraging words and guidance. I first met him when a friend recommended me for a job. On the phone he seemed as excited to meet me as I was to meet him and I starting working later that week. When we met he drove me around town pointing out all the houses he had worked in and not in a braggadocious manner. He wanted me to see what 25yrs of hard work had created. A reputation built by he and his family by taking pride in their work and doing things the right way. He has taught me so many things that cross between both the professional and personal realms. One thing that always stood out that he would tell me repeatedly, " If you surround yourself with talented, motivated individuals with a like minded goal you will always succeed" This statement always struck me as a testament to how he lived his life. He surrounded himself with great people, from his amazing family to the friends and work relationships he has fostered over the many years before and since I met him. He always had a knack for finding some common ground with another individual no matter the subject matter. I will miss so many things about him but mostly I will miss his guidance, friendship and unwavering support and desire to see others succeed.
