Obituary for Daniel R Zungoli




Daniel R. Zungoli, 89, of Bloomfield, formerly of Montclair, passed away on Monday April 16, 2012 at the NJ Veterans Hospital in Paramus. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday 10am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Montclair, interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visiting will be held on Wednesday from 4-9pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair, www.caggianomemorial.com.
Mr Zungoli was born and raised in Montclair before moving to Bloomfield many years ago. He was a WWII and Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a gunner on the USS Caperton. Dan was a driver for UPS for 32 years and was recognized for his safe driving record and driver training. He was a talented golpher, winning a UPS tournament and also greatly enjoyed deepsea fishing off the Jersey shore.

Mr Zungoli is survived by his children, Nick Zungoli and his partner Casey Bryant of Sugar Loaf, NY, Steve Zungoli and his wife Diane of Randolph, Sandra Tansey and her husband Tim of Verona, Danny Zungoli and his wife Michele of Wayne, seven grandchildren , Kimberly, Amanda, Stefan, Megan, Briana, Anthony, and Michael, his sisters ,Josephine Persercia of Linden, and Sadie Lavery of Naples, FL. He is predecesed by his wife of 55 years, Rose (nee Aromando), in 2006, his parents, Nicolo and Incoronata (nee Miscia) Zungoli and his brothers, Tony, Sal and Angelo Zungoli.
