Obituary for Robert Zambri

Robert “Bob” R. Zambri, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 5, 2014 at Villa St. Francis in Olathe, Kansas. Bob was born in Montclair, New Jersey to Mariane (nee Ferraro) and Patsy Zambri on October 20, 1940. He graduated from St. Benedict’s Prep High School, Seton Hall University and Seton Hall Law School. He then began his lifelong career at Mutual Benefit Life (MBL) Insurance Company in Newark, NJ. Bob married the love of his life Anna Marie Caggiano in 1965. Bob and Anna Marie started their life together in Bloomfield, NJ, moved to the Jersey shore before moving to Kansas City in 1977 when Bob was transferred to the Western Home Office of MBL. Bob held many executive positions at MBL and its successor Fortis Benefits before retiring in 2000. Bob lived his Catholic faith through several ministries including Rite of Christian Initiation and ministering to prisoners. He was an avid golfer with the mindset it never rained on the golf course. He was an active leader in the community serving as president of Goodwill Industries, KC Harmony, and Brookridge Golf Club among others. Bob is survived by his wife and three daughters and their families Karen (Steve) Schutter, Christine (Tyler) Pittenger and Sharon (Garry) Redding. Bob loved being with his grandchildren Carson, Jacob, Joel, Tessa, Brendan, Paxton and Jessica. Bob is also survived by his sister Angela (Neil) Gervasio and brother Patrick (Camille) Zambri and many nieces and nephews. Bob’s family wishes to thank the caregivers at Villa St. Francis and Catholic Hospice for their faithful and loving care.
Visitation Services will be on Thursday November 13th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair. caggianomemorial.com. A Funeral Liturgyl will be celebrated on Friday November 14th, 10:30am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Montclair . Cremation will be private. Inurnment will be at a later time at Resurrection Cemetery in Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Goodwill Industries at www.mokangoodwill.org.
