Mercedes E Zichelli (nee DiGeronimo) 88, lifelong Montclair resident, passed away on Thursday April 20, 2017. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday April 24th, at 10:30am at St Theresa's of Calcutta Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Montclair, interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair. Visiting will be on Sunday from 1-5pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair.

Mercedes was a secretary at Hampton House in Montclair for 59 years, and the past president and treasurer of the Lt. Vincent J. Russo American Legion Auxiliary Post 382 in Montclair.

She is survived by her husband, Carmine Zichelli, and by her sisters, Virginia Cosgrove, Dolores Arminio, and Marianne Karnas, and a brother, Daniel DiGeronimo, and by many nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by her sisters, Mildred Russo, Mary Miscia, Rachel Rubino, Sophie Sgroi, and Eleanor Bilotta, Gloria Lehman and her brothers, Joseph DiGeronimo, Vincent DiGeronimo, Joseph A. DiGeronimo, and Benito DiGeronimo.
