Obituary for Christine Perna

Christine Perna
On Dec. 2nd at 10 A.M. a mass will be held for Christine Elaine Perna at the Immaculate Conception Church 30 N. Fullerton St. Montclair, NJ 040742 to celebrate the life of Christine and pray for the glorification of her soul in Heaven.
In the early evening of Nov. 25th 2017, the Perna Family of Montclair suffered a devastating loss in mind, heart and soul with the passing of Christine Elaine Perna daughter of Josephine and Edward Murat (now deceased), sister to Diane Daliva of Wallington, NJ and Edward Murat of PA.
Christine was 41 years the devoted wife to Anthony J. Perna, Jr., and mother of their two daughters, Tara Julia Buggie, Amy Kristen Atkinson, and son, Anthony J. Perna, III.
Since their wedding day Christine gave her heart and soul to each of their children’s spouses as her own: William Louis Buggie, Shawn Eugene Atkinson and Eliza Stewart Perna, nee Zara. The family now grew to six children and from them the heavenly blessings of eight grandchildren: Lauren Avery Buggie (LuLu) 10, Bridget Michaels Buggie 2, Siena Elle Atkinson 12, Cameron Ryder Atkinson 10, Dixon Chase Atkinson 8. Everly Borie Perna 5, Anthony Joseph (AJ IV) 2.5, and Kitson Christine Perna 6 mo.
Christine was the adoring and adored “Grammie.” So often, when the children called out “Grammie” or “Gram,” the sweet sound of those names became the substitute for Christine. Then, no one could help but to call Christine, Grammie or Gram. In the Perna family’s heart and soul, there could only be one Grammie; she was our living angel. She was always seated on our shoulder. Whether child or adult, she provided endless love, generosity, protection, and loyalty without fail, and as we stood before any threshold, she would always give us the better choice of whether to step over or step back.
Of all the Pernas, she was the leader and has done so again now. She has opened the widest and most brilliant, smooth path to heaven, lighted by her bright and constant beacon to help lead each of us back to her when we pass over so the family love can continue to grow and become worthy of ever higher heavenly spheres.
In lieu of flowers or any other type of donation to the Perna family, please support Wounded Warrior Project or Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. Thank you
