Obituary for Katherine "Katie" Venezia
Katherine Venezia (née Anello), 97, of Verona, formerly of Montclair, passed away on Friday January 26, 2018. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday, January 29th at The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Montclair with an interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair. Visiting will be on Sunday, January 28th, from 1-5pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair. Caggianomemorial.com
Katie was born and lived in Montclair before moving to Verona 34 years ago. Katie first worked as a seamstress, then as a school crossing guard in Montclair. She also spent many happy years working at Sterling Net and Twine in Montclair.
She was a member and officer in the Vincent J. Russo Post # 382, for 50 years. Later, she became actively involved with the Verona Senior Citizens.
Katie was predeceased by her husband, Elmer, and is survived by three sons, Robert, Jack and James, daughters -in- law, Pat and Helen, and a granddaughter, Katie.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Verona Rescue Squad or St. Vincent’s Rehab and Nursing Center in Cedar Grove.
