Obituary for Thomas Battista

Thomas C. Battista, of Montclair, passed away on Wednesday August 22, 2018. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, August 27th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Montclair, cremation will be private. Visiting will be on Sunday August 26 from 1-5pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair. caggianomemorial.com

Thomas was born and raised in Orange NJ and spent the last 24 years in Montclair. He was a Safety Director for Dana Transport in Avanell before retiring in 2015. He was an avid Yankee and San Francisco 49rs fan, he loved to dance, and most of all listening to Frank Sinatra.

Thomas is survived by his wife Marie (nee LaStella), his children, Thomas Battista Jr.(Chery), Denise Walsh(Patrick), and Jeanne Battista and by his step-children, John McEnroe(Doreen), Debra Sabella(Doug), Rhonda Tayloe-Calinda(Philip), and Dawn Piano(Dave), and by his grandchildren, Patrick Walsh, Tom Battista III, Christopher Walsh, Megan Rutigliano, Ashley Battista, Katie McEnroe, Doug Sabella Jr, Matthew McEnroe, Philip Calinda, Chelsea Sabella, Ashley McEnroe, Joseph Calinda, and Kristen McEnroe, and by a great-grandson, Patrick Walsh III, and by his sisters Mary Battista and Geraldine Gasparino.

He was predeceased by his parents Vincenzo and Clementina Battista, and by a step son Patrick McEnroe, and by his siblings Ann, Jean, Sam, Tony, and Joe.
