Florence Allegri, 96, of Nutley, formerly of Montclair, passed away on Friday November 23rd, 2018. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday November 27th, at St Cassian’s Church in Upper Montclair, interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair. Visiting hours will beMonday 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair.
Florence worked for many years in sales with her sister, Jeanette, proprietor of Frances Rose Inc. in Upper Montclair. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, James Allegri. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and is survived by her daughters, Dianne Kropp and her husband Michael, and Jane Cerrigone; her grandchildren Jennifer Morrice, Jeffrey Kropp and his wife Honey Beth, Giancarlo Cerrigone and his fiance Michelle Daniels, and Francesca Cerrigone; her great-grandchildren, Christian, Jackson, Braydon, and Emerson Rose; and her brother Mario Garone. She was predeceased by a son-in-law Cosmo Cerrigone, her sisters Teresa Florio and Jeannette Garone, and by her brothers, Joseph and Michael Garone.
Florence will be missed for her quick wit, limitless strength, and gourmet cooking. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
