Obituary for Donato DiBenedetto
Donato DiBenedetto, 82, of Bloomfield, passed away on April 24th, 2019. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday April 29th, at St Lucy’s Church in Newark (please arrive at funeral home by 9am), interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair. Visiting Sunday April 28th from 2-6pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair.
Donato was born and raised in Aquilonia, Italy (AV), before coming to Newark, NJ in April, 1955. With his family, he moved to Bloomfield in 1979. Donato worked as supervisor for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in the Mileage Department with New Jersey Transit for 39 years before retiring in 1998. He was the past president and treasurer of the St Vito Society in Montclair. Donato enjoyed hunting, making wine, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Immacolata (nee Santorelli), his children, Debbie Santulli and her husband Mario, Diana Winkler and her husband Dean, his sisters, Maria DiMilia and her husband John, and Connie Freda and by his sisters-in-law Anna DiBenedetto, and Esperia DiBenedetto, and by his grandchildren, Daniel, Dylan, Olivia, Alexa, David and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Gaetano and Gerardo DiBenedetto.
He was the brother-in-law to Michelina Santorelli, Virginia Della Fera and her husband, Sam, Yolanda Raimato and her husband, Angelo and proceeded by Clorinda De John and husband, Rocco, and Sabina Alfieri.
