Obituary for Gregory Hairabedian
Gregory Hairabedian, 79, of Montclair, formerly West Allenhurst, Newark, Union City, passed away on Tuesday July 30th, 2019. The family will host a Memorial Tribute and receive relatives and friends from 10am – 12pm on Saturday, August 3rd, at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St., Montclair.
Greg was a thoughtful listener as a psychotherapist at the Veterans Hospital in East Orange. His caring ways spread to his family and friends. He was full of life, made friends wherever he went. He was a 3 letter, Hall of Fame athlete at Emerson High School in Union City. He restored his cherished Montclair home, took pride in the details and enjoyed his garden; planted trees and flowers. Greg loved his family compound in Hunter, NY, nature and animals. Most of all he was a good friend, and a loving, dedicated father and husband.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen McEvoy, his daughter Kristin and her fiancé Nick Wilson, by his siblings, Theresa Cicchelli (Jerry), Sonia Hairabedian, George Hairabedian, his sister in law Patricia Alexander (Harvey), brother in law Kevin McEvoy, his niece Laura Cicchelli, his nephews John Cicchelli (Andrea) and Brian Alexander (Mahua). He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Esther, his sister Gloria Azarian and his nephew Edward Alexander.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Montclair Human Needs Food Pantry, 9 Label St., Montclair.
