Obituary for Marilyn Kistner

Marilyn Kistner of Park Avenue in Verona, “Mimi” to her beloved
family, passed away Monday surrounded by her loved ones.

Marilyn, a Verona resident for 54 years was loved for her kind,
caring, and generous spirit. She was happiest spending time with her
many friends and her family. She loved Verona Park, Los Angeles
Dodgers spring training in Vero Beach, FL., knitting baby blankets,
and her crossword puzzles. She was most proud of her four
grandchildren and never missed a chance to be with them.

Born Marilyn Jean Zingalli on Sept. 4, 1935 to Anthony and Benadetta
Zingalli of Walnut Parkway in Montclair, Marilyn and her younger
sister Evelyn Haas of Point Pleasant grew up in Montclair, with
Marilyn graduating Montclair High School in 1953.

After marrying lifelong Verona resident Kenneth Kistner in 1962, the
couple moved to their first home in Verona on Franklin St. and then to
Park Avenue, where together they happily lived the last 40 years.
Throughout the years Marilyn could often be seen around the baseball
fields of Verona supporting ‘Kenny,’ who served as the town’s longtime
American Legion coach.

A wonderful mother to Douglas Kistner of Verona and Karyn Doran of
Summit, Mimi’s lasting legacy will be her limitless love and devotion
to her four equally devoted grandchildren Natalie, Kevin and Wade
Kistner of Verona and Lyla Doran of Summit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donatios to the Verona Resque Squad, 12 Church St, Verona NJ, 07044
