Marie Ginette Baptiste
November 9, 1951 - August 3, 2019

Marie Ginette Baptiste known as Ginette or Jou Jou to her friends and family passed away on August 3, 2019 after protracted battle with Frontotemporal Dementia.

Ginette was born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti to Francine and Dieudonne Baptiste. She moved to Brooklyn, New York when she was 14 years old. She lived in Brooklyn until 1982 when she moved to Newark, NJ where she raised her 2 children. She was an active member of her community where she proudly served as the Treasurer of the Ivy Hill Neighborhood Association, a member the Neighborhood Watch, and helped to the establish the Ivy Hill International Food and Music Festival. Ginette worked as a Margin Analyst and Assistant Controller for many years, but what she loved most was to entertain and cook for her loved ones which led her to start a catering business late in her career.
