Obituary for Marjorie Hunter

Marjorie A. Hunter (nee Dean), 92, a lifelong Montclair resident, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019.
She was born on July 8, 1927 to Robert and Elizabeth Dean. Marjorie met and married the late Elvis “81” Hunter on November 5, 1948. She spent most of her adult life working as a wonderful homemaker.
Marjorie had strong religious beliefs and was a lifelong member of the church. First with New Calvary Baptist Church in Montclair and later with Union Baptist Church in Bloomfield and sang in both Choirs.
She went through the Montclair Public School system and was the Co-Author of the Glenfield Middle School Song. Her favorite activities were playing Bingo and watching sports on TV especially basketball, also watching game shows. She was an avid cook and loved to bake.

Marjorie worked several jobs in Montclair, 81s Boutique Shop, the 4th Ward Luncheonette & Lackawanna Taxi Service.

She is survived by her children, Stephanie L. Hunter, Sandy Hunter, and by her grandchildren, Eric Banks, Rhonda Grayson, Ronald L Grayson Jr., and Danielle M. Hunter Arnold (Jeffrey), and by her great grandchildren, Latoya, Spencer, Dontea , Eric Jr., Daniel and a great-great granddaughter Makayla.

She was predeceased by her husband Elvis ”81” Hunter, her son Ronald C. Grayson Sr. and by her brother Robert Dean Jr.

Marjorie was a kind loving person and shared that with everyone she met. She was truly a shining star to all who knew her.dsa
