Obituary for Shirlean Russo
Shirlean Russo (nee Rider), 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, at Green Hill in West Orange, N.J. She was a longtime resident of Wayne, N.J., until relocating to Riverdale, N.J., where she was a 10-year member of the Riverdale Seniors.
Shirlean was able to persevere through difficult times and managed to find joy and happiness. She had a beautiful spirit and was generous, accepting, and forgiving. She always welcomed guests into her home with a smile and provided fun times with lots of laughter. Above all, she was proud of her three children and their accomplishments as well as those of her eight grandchildren.
Working as a bookkeeper for over 30 years, Shirlean was last employed by Jencraft in Totowa, N.J. Throughout her career, she was fortunate to have formed many cherished friendships and held fond and happy memories of those times, especially those memories made at her previous employer, Executone. In addition to her friendships formed at work, she was fortunate to have had many other treasured friends throughout the years who she enjoyed spending time with.
Shirlean is survived by her children, Laurie Miscia and her husband, Stephen, of Montclair, N.J.; Robert Russo and his wife, Donna, of Kinnelon, N.J., and Judi Pawlowski and her husband, Frank, of North Haledon, N.J., and by her grandchildren, Dana, Lindsey, Brett, Chelsea, Ryan, Christopher and his fiancee, Dawn, Brian and Alyssa. She is also survived by her siblings, Harriet Feder, Jan Markham, and Randye Serle and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Edith Vecchione.
She will be always be remembered and missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Visiting is Sunday, Dec. 22, from 1 to 4 p.m. with a funeral service to begin at 4 p.m. at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St., Montclair.
