Obituary for Joseph Hastick

Joe was born in a house on Wessington Ave in Garfield, NJ. He went to School #2 until the 8thgrade and the ontoDon Bosco High School in Ramsey and graduated in 1964. He went on to Mannes School of Music for 2 year before going to Montclair State, where he was president of the music fraternity. After graduation he went to teach music in West Milford, NJ for 3 year and the left to study in Vienna for a year. After returning from Europe, he went to teach several years in Bellville, NJ. He left teaching to work in New York for an advertising agency before returning to teaching in Jersey City. Going back to the cooperate world, he went into become the Director of Public Relations for Morris Heights Health center and retired in 2008. He was general manager for the Gay Men’s Chorus for several years in the 1980’s. He also held numerous church organist/Choir director possessions throughout Northern Jersey.He is survived by his husband William Jensen, late sister Lorraine Lengyel, his brother Robert Hastick and sister Eleanor Bortnick. Also, his niece Kathleen VanDer Vliet, nephew James Lengyeland nephews Robert and Kenneth Bortnick
