Obituary for Marc Tomeo

Marc Tomeo
Often Described as “A Character Larger than Life” he lived for his loved ones and friends.
Mr. Marc Tomeo passed away peacefully Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Englewood Hospital. He was 63 years old. He was born and raised in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. He graduated from Glen Ridge High School in 1975, where he enjoyed being part of the baseball and football team.

He was a real estate appraiser in Northern NJ up until the time of his passing who would often brag that he “knew every town in the state that was North of Trenton”. In his travels, he would strike up a friendly conversation with literally anyone he met and loved to hit all of the iconic eateries throughout the state and bring their signature dish(es) back to his family and friends to enjoy. Throughout his life, he was a resident of Glen Ridge, Montclair, and Bloomfield and took great pride in his community. He was a total sports enthusiast, supporting many high school (especially the Glen Ridge Ridgers), college, and local professional teams, with a special affinity for the Los Angeles Lakers, Rams, and Dodgers. In conversations, Marc would always describe someone you might not know with their sports resume first and whatever else they were known for second.

He is survived by his brother Paul Tomeo and his wife Barbara of Sparta, NJ, his sister Karen Russomanno and her husband Gerard of West Caldwell, NJ, and his sister-in-law Carol Tomeo of Greensboro, NC, as well as 2 nephews, 3 nieces, a Godchild, and many cherished extended family members. He is predeceased by his father Nicholas, his brother Carl (Chip), and his mother Marie.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Condolences may also be offered online at https://caggianomemorial.com/.
