Murray loved his country and was so proud of his service in the military. During his time in the military he wrote many love letters to his wife Sylvia and not too long after coming home from war he married the love of his life, Sylvia Gentile.

Murray loved the sea and owned several boats. His happiest days were aboard the “My Elaine” named lovingly after his daughter. He also loved excitement and spent many weekends in the casinos in Atlantic City and aboard casino ships in Florida with his friends and family. Murray definitely loved life.

Murray was a very successful owner of a trimming company, Mitchell Trimmings, on 36th Street in NYC for many years. Later in life he turned the business over to his son Mitchell, who kept the business going for many years after. Murray was very proud of both his children and grandchildren.
