Obituary for Alfred Lumpkin

Alfred Lumpkin Sr., departed this life on Wednesday, October
7, 2020, after a long battle with illness. Alfred was born February
10, 1942, in Montclair, New Jersey to the Late Ella Mae Lumpkin
and Alfred Walton.

Alfred graduated from Kearny High Schoolin 1960.After graduation
he began a career as a long road truck driver until his retirement
in 1996. Alfred was a man of strength and service. He served
his community by sharing his passion for sports, especially football,
with the youth of the community.As a thirty year two-time champion,
town league football coach he instilled the principles of hard work,
dedication, and cooperation into all who had the opportunity to
play under his leadership. Alfred was also a loyal fan and avid
watcher of the NY Giants.

Alfred also had a large family, all of whom will continue to keep
him alive in their treasured memories. Alfred is survived by his
siblings,WillaM.Lumpkin Jackson,Cynthia Hayes Sanders(Robert),
Lori Carter Davis, Joyce Carter, Ronald Lumpkin, James Hayes,
Tyrone Hayes (Rozelyn), William Hayes (Rosalind), and Frank
Carter, his children, Keith Sr. (Lorna), Kenneth Sr. (Catherine),
Gary, Earl, Cheryl, Alfred Jr., and Isaiah, nine grandchildren, one
great granddaughter, and host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and
friends. Alfred was also preceded in death by his daughter, Karla.

To enter the premises, you must have and wear a mask, and follow social distancing guidelines. 50 people are allowed within the premises at any given time, so please keep your condolences brief.
