Obituary for Flora Mazzeo

Flora Mazzeo, also known as Letizia, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2020 at Chelsea of Montville assisted living facility. Visiting Monday October 26th from 11am – 12:30pm immediately followed by a funeral service at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair. Entombment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair.


Her life began in Vallata, Italy, until her voyage to the U.S. in 1956 aboard the ship Cristoforo Colombo. Flora, her beloved husband Dante, and their 2 sons, Frank and Joe, settled in Montclair NJ. Flora was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed life through her family, friends, cooking, being an excellent seamstress and knitter. Flora and her husband were proud Eucharistic ministers, assisting the the distribution of Holy Communion to the congregation at Immaculate Conception church in Montclair.

Flora is predeceased by her husband Dante, sisters Edelia, Gerarda and Maria, brothers Luigi, Silvio, and Alfonsino.
Flora is survived by her brothers Platone and Arnaldo, son Frank (wife Ellen) and his children Paul (wife Joann) and Christine Holzschuh (husband Craig), 2nd son Joe (wife Carol) and his children Laura (husband Nathan) Allen, Katherine (husband Steve) Thomas, Anne (husband Nick) Baldwin, Madeline (husband Dario) Nalli and eight great grandchildren Joey, Charlie, Steven, Madeline, Levi, Henry, Gus, and Liliana.
