Joseph Paul Pagliuca

On Thursday, January 28, 2021, Joseph Paul Pagliuca, loving husband and father, passed away at age 54.

Joseph was born on October 22, 1966 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey to Joseph and Mary Ann Pagliuca. While growing up in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, Joseph graduated from Roosevelt School and Lyndhurst High School. After attending Seton Hall University for three and a half years, he received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1990. Five years later, he became a Certified Public Accountant and soon opened his own firm, which grew and prospered over the course of his twenty-six-year accounting career. On May 30, 1992, he married Maria (Miele) Pagliuca and they raised one son, Joseph Jr., and one daughter, Samantha.

From a young age, Joseph became an avid sports fan and participated in many sports during his schooling, including football, baseball, track, golf, and bowling. This passion for sports later influenced his decision to become the athletic director of Trinity Academy in Caldwell, New Jersey for more than ten years as well as a coach of various teams for his children and their peers. He was known for his competitive nature, generosity, sense of humor, loyalty, and big heart. A devout Catholic, respected colleague, admired coach, trusted friend, and beloved son-in-law, husband, and father, Joseph will be missed greatly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Joseph, his mother, Mary Ann, and his mother-in-law, Jane Miele. He is survived by his wife, Maria, his two children, Joseph Jr. and Samantha, and his father-in-law, Sam Miele. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, February 3rd from 4 – 8 PM at Caggiano Memorial Home, 62 Grove Street, Montclair, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 4th at 10 AM at Notre Dame Church, 359 Central Avenue, North Caldwell, NJ. A private entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
