Obituary for Thomas S Fano

Thomas S. Fano, 51, formerly of West Caldwell, Bloomfield and Newark, passed away on Sunday March 28, 2021 at his home. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday April 1st at Notre Dame Church in North Caldwell. (Livestream available at the church's website , https://www.ndparishnc.com/). Interment at Bloomfield Cemetery. Visiting Wednesday, March 31st from 4-8pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair.

Thomas was born and raised in Newark, went to Immaculate Conception High school and later earned a Human Resource Masters Degree from Seton Hall University. Thomas became a Rahway State Correction officer right after high school, then transferred to the Essex County Police. He went on to become a Detective for Bloomfield Police Department retiring as a sergeant several years ago. After retirement, Thomas worked for Walmart Asset Protection and most recently was Director of Facilities for Alternatives Inc. of Raritan.

He is survived by his wife Helen (nee Stack) and his children Vincent and Michael, his mother Anita Lombardi (nee Arroyo) and her husband Richard, his siblings, Victor Fano and his wife Helen (nee Franciosi), Maria Fano-Galeotafiore and her husband Anthony, his nephews Dominic and Joseph Fano. He was predeceased by his father Salvatore Biaggio Fano.
