Obituary for Rose DeFalco

Rose N. DeFalco (nee Miscia), 102, formerly of Verona and Montclair. Cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2021.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Daniel J. DeFalco, her parents Candido and Louisa Miscia, her brothers Anthony, Joseph, Frank and John Miscia, and her sisters Mary Sammarco, Louise Pondiscio, Margaret, Anna Cesta and her niece Virginia Cesta.

Rose enjoyed baking and having her family gatherings on holidays. Her family was a treasure to her. She also enjoyed sewing, as she worked at various sewing places during her life. Rose was a volunteer for wake-up calls for Verona seniors. She also sewed aprons for the seniors. Rose was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching the Yankees.

Above all, her greatest joy was her family. Her devoted daughters and son-in-laws Lou, Anne and Joseph Palestini, Nancy and William Gregorio. Her caring grandchildren Joseph Palestini (Suzana), Dina Davila (Larry), Paula Vieira and Nicholas Gregorio (Victoria).

She also leaves behind her cherished great grandchildren Gabriella Davila, Marcelo Luciana, Grace Vieira, Brianna Davila, Russell and Natalie Gregorio.

Our Mom was the most caring, loving and giving person to all of us. She was also witty with a great sense of humor. We will always treasure her sweet sentiment, “kiss the kids for me”, which we will do!

She will be fondly remembered by her nieces Grace Barwick and Marie Miscia Reidinger, and also her other nieces, nephews and friends.

Rest in peace Mom.
