Obituary for Amelia Conte
Amelia "Amy" Conte, 98, passed away on August 23, 2021. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday August 30th at 10am at Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona, interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visiting Sunday August 29th from 2-5pm at Caggiano Memorial, Montclair.
Amelia was born in Bari, Italy and came to the United States as a young child. She grew up and married in the Bronx, NY.
Living the American dream in 1955, they built a home in Cedar Grove, NJ, where she raised her family.
Amelia was predeceased by her husband of 70 yrs, Vincent. She leaves behind 4 children Roseann Cestone, husband Gary, Michael Conte, wife Kathy, Lorraine Conte and Maria Padula; 6 amazing grandchildren/spouses: Gary Cestone, wife Dana, Daniella Cestone, Nina Padula Gialle, husband Giancarlo, Rachele Padula, Tommy Padula and Natalie Conte; 5 Great grandchildren Valerie, Breanne and Matthew Cestone, and Fiona and Emiliana Gialle. Amelia is also survived by her sister Victoria Lauritano and many nieces and nephews.
She was a talented seamstress, tailor and gardener. An amazing cook, loving mother, grandmother and friend to all. She had a big heart full of love and acceptance of everyone.
She will live forever in our hearts, we will always remember her gentle words and kindness.
