Obituary for Naturale Anthony V.
Anthony Vito Naturale, 89, lifelong Montclair resident passed away on Saturday December 4th, 2021. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Montclair at 10:00 AM on Thursday December 9th with an Interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery to follow. Visiting hours Wednesday December 8th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair
Tony graduated from Montclair high school in 1950 where he played on three state championship football teams. After graduating, he joined the Navy during the Korean War from 1952 to 1955. He then served from 1955 to 1985 as a lieutenant on the Montclair police force. After retiring he worked as the director of security for Mountainside Hospital. He was the author of five books, and also an avid softball player in the North Jersey Senior Softball League.
He is survived by his children Steven Naturale (Keiko Stevens), LeeAnn Hurley (Patrick), Carolyn Hughes (Kevin); his brother Victor Naturale (Judy); his grandchildren Katie Picinich (Justin), Ryan Hurley (Lindsey), Emily Hurley, Eve Naturale, Leigh Naturale, Davey Hughes; his great-grandchildren Henri Hurley, Hayes Hurley, Aiden Picinich, Emma Picinich; his nephew Richard Tobin (Diane), their children, Vreeland, Nolan, Wyatt, Ruby; his niece Susan Schulz (Glenn) and her children Douglas, Greg (Alexis); his great-niece Skyler Schultz; his great-nephew Michael Tobin & many other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Madeline (Tobin) and by his sister Marie Fergus (Charlie).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
