Obituary for Isabel Belotti

Isabel Belotti, 93, left this life peacefully from Family of Caring in Montclair, New Jersey on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Isabel was born on May 16, 1929 in the Bronx, NY to the late Angelina (Cospito) and Leo Belotti. After living more than five decades in Glendale, NY, Isabel relocated in January 2021 to be with her sister, Jean LaRocca until her death in February of this year.

Isabel’s life was defined by care and service to family, friends and community. For more than three decades, Isabel worked for Lighthouse International, Lighthouse Guild as of 2013, providing support and services for visually impaired children and adults. In addition to her work at Lighthouse, Isabel volunteered for years after hours at the New York Foundling Hospital caring for orphaned and abandoned children.

Following her retirement from Lighthouse, Isabel moved to Glendale with her mother. There, she became an active participant in the St. Pancras congregation. For more than a decade, she helped coordinate the Over 50 Club and planned numerous outings and events. She was a regular at the Glendale Diner, stopping in after attending morning mass most days.

Isabel was known for her kindness and patience. She loved opera. Isabel was a true baseball fan, preferring to listen to baseball games on the radio rather than watch them.

Isabel was predeceased by her sister Jean LaRocca and her twin sister Columbia Belotti at birth.
