James L Van Note III passed away peacefully on July 26th, 2022, with his wife Meghan by his side. A 1988 Montclair High School graduate, a St Joseph's College graduate in 1992. Jimmy was a soccer player, a rugby player a skier and a surfer. He had a lifetime career by his mother's side at Rhodes Van Note Realty and building beauty with his brother at VanNote Renovations.
Adored son to James and Brigitte VanNote. Cherished husband and father to Meghan, AJ and Kat. Beloved brother, brother-in-law and uncle to Ryan, Megan, Patrick, Nate and Tess. Treasured son in law, brother-in-law, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend.
Known to all as Jimmy, Little Jimmy, My love, Surferboy, Daddy, Uncle Jimmy, Nimmy, Jimmy Love, Shakes, The Baron, Jim Bone, Jim VanSmile, Super Jimmy and The Mighty Oak. He was a proud and devoted father, a soccer Dad, a horse Dad and the love of my life. The strongest, bravest and most honorable. He taught us all to live with passion and love fully. The kindest soul with a never-ending will. Fighting brain cancer for 10 years while silently teaching us all inspirational strength. With the brightest blue eyes and an everlasting smile, he carried us through his journey, shining like no other. Leaving nothing but love and a legacy of kindness.
In the ocean, in the shining rays of the sun, in the cool breeze... he will always be with us.
Visitation Saturday August 6th from 3-5pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St Montclair, with a memorial service to begin at 5pm. Afterwards, please come celebrate Jimmys life with a drink at Tierney's Tavern from 6-9pm. At Jimmys request, please attend all in semi casual summer attire. Memorial donations to Calvary Hospital, Bronx NY fund.calvaryhospital.org
