Obituary for Richard Lombardi Sr.
Richard Lombardi, 79 yers old, born in Montclair, NJ, passed away
suddenly on Friday, January 6, 2023. He is predeceased by his brother
Ronald Lombardi and his father and mother, Gianetti and Rose
Lombardi (nee Bilotta).
Beloved husband of Anita Lombardi (Nee Fano), brother to Bobby
Lombardi and wife Mary, the late Ronald Lombardi and wife Susan,
father to MaryAnn Lombardi, Deborah Skowronski (Nee Lombardi)
and husband Daniel, Richard Lombardi Jr. and wife Maureen,
stepfather to the late Thomas Fano, Maria Galeotafiore (Nee Fano) and
her husband Anthony, Victor Fano and his wife Helen (Nee Franciosi),
grandfather to Richard Lombardi III, Daniel Jr., Deanna, Alyssa,
Shannon, Sal Lombardi and wife Dianna and Great Grandfather to
their child Charlie Lombardi, Step Grandfather to Dominic, Joseph,
Vincent and Michael Fano.
Richard was a lifelong resident of Montclair, graduated Montclair High
School Class of 1962, worked for his father and was eventually co-owner
of G. Lombardi Paving and excavating from 1960 until his retirement in
2018. He was an avid classic car enthusiast, entering and attending car
shows and often showcasing his vehicles in the Montclair 4th of July
Parade. He enjoyed spending time fishing in Walpak, spending time
down the Jersey shore in Wildwood Crest and Cape May, doing various
handyman projects, and hanging out in his garage for morning coffee
with friends. He will be greatly missed by many.
The wake will be held at Caggiano Memorial Home, 62 Grove St, Montclair, NJ
Sunday 1-5pm, Funeral Mass on Monday at 12 noon at Mount Carmel
Church in Montclair, NJ, with a repast following mass for close friends
and family at Lumis Restaurant in Fairfield, NJ at 2PM.
