Obituary for Louise Micchelli
Louise Dolores Micchelli, 94, of Pompton Plains, NJ, passed away at her home on January 16th, 2023 surrounded by her family.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday January, 20th, at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, in Belleville, NJ, with an interment at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, in Toms River, NJ. Visiting will be held Thursday from 3-7pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair.
Louise was born in Orange, NJ to Eliseo Lucciola and Mary Crecco before moving to Belleville, NJ, where she raised her family with her husband Gabriel of 48 years. After raising her children, Louise worked in the NJ Unemployment offices in Bloomfield and Newark, NJ for many years before retiring to the Holiday City Berkeley Community in Tom’s River, which she adored, before moving to Cedar Crest Community in Pompton Plains, NJ.
Louise had an infectious zest for life, a passion she shared with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She made friends where ever she went. Her love for her family was demonstrated by the blankets and pillows she made for them and her willingness to accompany them on trips to New York City and other adventures with them. Her love, joy, enthusiasm, opinions, and interior decorating skills will be remembered by all who knew her.
Louise was predeceased by her husband Gabriel W. Micchelli. She is survived by her children Gabriel R. Micchelli and his wife Leanora (nee Armino), Barbara Ruglio (nee Micchelli) and her husband Al Ruglio, by her grandchildren, Maria Tullin (nee Micchelli) and her husband Craig Tullin, Christina Ruglio and her partner Michael McNally, and Deborah Doherty (nee Ruglio) and her husband Matthew Doherty, her great grandchildren Giovanni Moreau, Maya Tullin and Ella Doherty and by her loving companion of 22 years, Frank Micciulli.
