Obituary for Edward R. Mosley

Edward R. Mosley, 71, of Montclair, died peacefully on March 14, 2023.  A funeral service will be
celebrated at 10am on Saturday, March 18th at Grace Presbyterian Church, 153 Grove St, Montclair. 
Visiting Friday, March 17th, from 4-7pm at Caggiano Memorial, 62 Grove St, Montclair.  
Born in Paterson to Sylvester and Geraldine. He and his brothers were raised in Paterson. He
graduated from Eastside High School. He earned a B.A. from William Paterson University; M.A.
from Seton Hall University; and a M.S. from Fordham University. He was licensed as a Certified
Social Worker, Rehabilitation and Professional Counselor.

Mr. Mosley had a passion for teaching and helping others. He worked for 43 years at Passaic
County Community College. During his tenure he served as an administrator, department chair,
faculty association leader and most importantly teacher. Upon his retirement in December
2021, he was honored by the College as Professor Emeritus. He also worked part-time at
Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for 30+ years as a Crisis Counselor in the Emergency
Department and for 30 some years he taught per diem on-line at Thomas Edison State College.
Mr. Mosley is predeceased by his parents, Sylvester, and Geraldine Mosley and three brothers,
Sylvester Jr., David Gaston, and John Michael Mosley.

Mr. Mosley is survived by his daughter Jennifer S.M. Goodwin and her children, Samiyah, Lailah,
Mikaylah, and Grayson; his partner Patricia Warren; and his brother Tyrone Mosley. He leaves a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations in his honor to any charity of your choice, or to the
William Paterson University or Passaic County Community College Scholarship Funds.
