Jose Robinson, 74, passed away on April 30, 2023 at Clara Maass hospital in Belleville, NJ.
Family and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday, May 4, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A ceremony will be held Friday, May 5, at 10:00 am at St. John’s Church in Orange, NJ.
Jose was born in Bellavista, Callao, Peru on December 7, 1948. He emigrated to United States in 1970. He lived in Orange, NJ for many years where he raised a family with his former wife, Pauline Robinson (nee Koob). He was a self-employed painter until retirement. In 1986, he started the Latin Orange Soccer Club. He was active in many local Peruvian organizations and was recognized as a Peruvian Good Citizen by the Township of Belleville in 2019. An adventurous, vivacious, and gregarious soul, Jose loved to travel and to be wherever the festivities were.
Jose is predeceased by his parents, Manuela and Jose Robinson, and his siblings, Bruno Robinson, Walter Robinson, and Flor Soca (nee Robinson).
He is survived by his brother Ismael Robinson; his children, Christopher Robinson, and his wife, Janet; Eliana Robinson Lopez and her husband Joseph Lopez; and Jason Robinson and his wife, Paula; and his cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Jr., Nicholas, Vanessa, Olivia, Sophia, Brooklynn, Logan, and Angelina.
Jose suffered septic shock while in the hospital treating a heart condition and other ailments. He passed away blessed to be surrounded by loved ones.
