Obituary for Mary Elizabeth Fleming
Mary Elizabeth Haugh Fleming, 95, died September 28, 2016 at Mountainside Hospital, Glen Ridge. Mrs. Fleming, known as Betty, was born in Baltimore MD but lived in New Jersey most of her life moving to Upper Montclair 38 years ago. Betty was a graduate of West Orange High School and the Essex County School of Business where she met Jim, her husband of 58 years who died in 2000. Professionally Mrs. Fleming was a legal secretary for several local firms. She also worked at The Montclair Times. Surviving are three daughters, Susan Smith, Eileen Keenan, and Virginia Campbell, a son, John, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A private family service will be held at a future date.
