Remember? "I'm gonna do it." And he did. "Don't throw it away!" And he didn't. The hand drawn door to door maps, complete with landmarks. Multifaceted, Steve was kind, thoughtful, considerate, positive, funny and fun. He was a wonderful husband, father and doctor, as well as a devoted son. He was my best friend for over 60 years. Now I'll have to "dribble my oatmeal" and gaze at the bay in Mattituck from our lawn, after I finish decluttering the 'stuff' he didn't throw away.

Dear Dad, You were truly a paradox - an unlikely blend of caution and daring - steady perseverance and whimsical spontaneity. Will miss most your unique sense of humor, sage advice, and captivating war stories. Will never forget flying with you to Orange County NY because you knew of a diner that had the best pie. I've no doubt that's where you are now - doing what you loved most - flying a plane and enjoying endless blue skies.
