I am Carol Stevenson, 2nd. daughter of Anna and John Patello [Anna Flora, Bobbie's father's sister] Bobbie and his sister RoseAnn were a big part of our family growing up. My older sister Dolores and I shared many happy times with them. We all will remember him fondly and have happy memories of him.

I am going to miss Chief Flora, as I think of all the big fires, small fires and crazy calls that we responded to my love for Bob Flora will not diminish. He taught me a lot about becoming a Firefighter when I was a rookie and he was a role model for me as an Jersey City Fire Officer. He could be a tough guy or a gentle giant, he loved to prank the guys and could take it as well as he gave. He will be missed by me and the men and woman of the Jersey City Fire Dept

Condolence: Dear Bob's Family,

I'm Aunt Anna (Bob's Father's Sister) and Uncle Johnny's son and I want to express my sincere condolences. That sounds too cold and impersonal and does not express how sad I am at Bob's passing. Bob and I and the whole Flora family were very close my entire life until we all moved out of Jersey City/Emerson Avenue. Bob was always great to me, as was his sister RoseAnne, both were very close with my sister Joan and my Mom and Dad. The notice of his passing was a shock and has struck me hard. I live on Long Island now and due to work and distance and work commitments it is going to be very hard for me to get there on Thursday, and I am very upset about that. Please rest assured if I do not make it he and the whole family are in my prayers. If possible, perhaps someone can email me and let me know what happened.
