Obituary for Joanne Maggio (Intile)

Joanne Intile Maggio, of Flemington, NJ, formerly of Rockaway Township, NJ peacefully passed away on June 29th, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a wake service on Sunday, July 2nd, 2017 between 2:00- 5:00 pm at Caggiano Memorial Home, Montclair, NJ. Funeral services are planned for Monday, July 3rd beginning at 9:00 am at Caggiano Memorial Home, with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10:30am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church-St Teresa's of Calcutta Parish, 94 Pine St, Montclair, entombment at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Upper Montclair.

Mrs. Maggio was born and raised in Montclair before moving to Rockaway, NJ in 1958. Joanne and her late husband Frank G. Maggio had two children, Linda and Michael.

Joanne was a timeless, selfless beauty who devoted all of her time to her immediate and extended family.

In addition to her children, Linda Ponzo and Michael Maggio, she is survived by their spouses Santo Ponzo and Colleen Maggio and her grandchildren: Michael Maggio and his wife June, Joseph Ponzo and his wife Stephanie, Krista Kappus and her husband Phil, Robert Ponzo and his wife Sara, Matthew Maggio and his soon to be wife Lydia.

In addition to her beloved grandkids, she was devoted and very involved with her 9 (soon to be 10) great grandkids. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 2004, by her parents Antonio and Maria (Grasso) Intile, and by her sisters, Rose Saporito, Mary Moscarino, Antoinette Jencarelli, Margaret Caggiano, Lena Figurelli, and her brothers, Michael, Jack, Joseph and Eugene Intile.

Joanne’s legacy will live on in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and beyond. She was a model matriarch to all those close to her near and far.
