Born at home in Montclair on February 24, 1920. Her patron Saint was St. Sebastian and the Feast of St. Sebastian was one of her favorite times of the year since she was a little girl. She watched the Saint be carried out each year for her entire life including this past August. Carmella will be remembered as a caring Matriarch with a generous spirit and profound love for her family. She was an avid Yankee fan and a seamstress by trade who always offered a helping hand to repair garments for friends and family. In addition to her creative mind her attention to detail and retention of events and times could not be matched by others. A baker who loved to share recipes and Italian cookies for friends and familys always found making chicken cutlets, eggplant parmesan or tripe for those that desired her cooking. She adored her cousins and always kept in touch sharing recipes of pizzagaina.
